Browsing Mockup Categories

To begin creating a mockup, select Mockups from the main menu bar.

When you open the mockup maker tool, you'll see a selection of pre-made categories to choose from:

• Packaging
• Interior
• Print
• Products
• Branding
• Devices
• Apparel

These categories cover a wide range of use cases — showcasing packaging design, presenting an interior concept, creating a print design, displaying physical products, highlighting a brand's visual identity, showing a mobile app on a device, or showcasing a new clothing line. They make it easy to get started and find the right mockup for your project.

At the top of the page, you'll also find a New templates row, which includes an AI option alongside the newest mockup templates.

Searching and Sorting Mockups

Use the search bar at the top of the page to find a mockup template by keyword.

To sort your results, click the sort dropdown (showing Trending by default) and choose Trending or Newest.

Choosing a Template and Starting to Edit

Once you select a mockup template pack, a preview opens showing the number of scenes it includes, along with a short description. This gives you a quick sense of whether the pack has the scenes and features your project needs.

Click Create Now to open the mockup editor and start customizing your chosen template.

Creating Mockups with the AI Image Tool

Alongside the mockup maker, Renderforest also offers a more general AI Image tool, found under Tools in the sidebar, which includes a Mockup preset under its Inspiration tab.

This works differently from the mockup maker above: instead of choosing a template pack, you describe the image you want directly in a prompt, optionally choose a size and style, and upload up to three reference images if you want the result to match a specific product or scene. Clicking Generate produces a fully AI-generated visual rather than an editable mockup template.

This option is best suited for a more creative, one-of-a-kind mockup, while the mockup maker remains the more straightforward path for a polished, ready-to-customize template.
