Stock Footage

In this article, we'll look at the benefits of the Renderforest Stock Library and how it can simplify your creative process.

One of the biggest advantages of the Stock Library is the convenience it brings to your workflow. With a wide range of videos and images available in one place, you save the time and effort you'd otherwise spend hunting across multiple platforms. The library is easy to use, letting you quickly browse, search, and filter assets to find exactly what you need.

Accessing the Stock Library

To access the Stock Library, pick a video holder or image holder scene in the Video Maker tool, then click on the scene placeholder to reveal the "Add media" panel.

This gives you three ways to add media: "Upload," "My files," and "Stock footage" — the last of which gives you direct access to the Renderforest Stock Library. The same options are also available from the left side of the editor.

Finding and Adding Stock Media

Use the search bar within the Stock Footage option to find content that matches your vision — just enter keywords related to your project, and matching results will appear.

As you browse, you'll see the duration of each available stock video. Once you've found the right file, click it to add it to your project, which opens the "Edit media" panel (each asset also lists its recommended size, e.g. 1920x1080). From there, you can:

  • Trim: use the handles on the clip in the timeline to fit the video to your desired length.
  • Balance the volume: for stock videos with their own audio, adjust the balance between the clip's audio and your project's audio.
  • Use Fill and Fit to optimize image placement.
  • Rotate the image for better alignment.

Once you're happy with your changes, click "Done" to finalize your selection — or "Cancel" to discard them. You can also swap the selected media for something else at any time using the "Replace" option at the top of the panel.
